A Mindset Shift That Can Change Everything For You… If You Actually Implement It.

Jan 19, 2022

Think of it like looking through glasses, if you have rose tinted glasses, everything takes on a shade of red.

Similarly, if you look at everything through a positive lens, guess what? Things will turn out a lot more positive. The same is true if you have a negative viewpoint.

So with that being said, here is a combination of the absolute best advice I have ever received when it comes to having the right perspective.

#1. Imagine you are looking at everything for the last time.

  • Imagine if when you woke up, you knew this would be your last day on earth.
  • The last time you felt your soft bed,
  • The last time your head rested on your pillow.
  • You walk outside and this is the last time you feel the sun hit your face,
  • The last time you get to walk down the street and see your neighbours and friends.

Ask yourself, how would things be different if this was the last time.

Would I feel differently?

Would I act differently?

Would I treat people differently?

How much more gratitude and appreciation would you exhibit?

Memento mori is a latin saying that translates to “Remember you must die” the greatest thinkers throughout history have continuously asked themselves this question, what if this is the last time?

#2. What do you value most in your life?

Don’t think you have anything to be grateful for? What about your hands, feet, ability to see, speak, think, these are all gifts we were given at birth and oftentimes we overlook or go under appreciated.

Your friends, family, people who you have not spoken with in a while. Take time and really appreciate them for who they are and what they have done for you, even if its small.

#3 Celebrate the Small Steps

The highest performers in the world almost possess what seems to be a delusional quality towards positivity and optimism. This many times is a self fulfilling prophecy.

Where the average person would say, “Why are you happy? that's bad” someone who is committed to themselves and committed to success finds a way to celebrate it.

Say for example you want to buy a business, you take the step to call a business owner and it turns out that he doesn’t want to sell and he even hangs up on you.

The average person might say to themselves “I suck, this is hard, this doesn’t work, I did it wrong, this will never work etc”

They are overlooking all the positive aspects of that deed. “I did something new, I felt fear and I did it anyway, I gained experience, I am one call closer to an owner who wants to sell”

Same result but 2 completely different interpretations of the outcome.

One leads to defeat and misery, the other to success, gratitude and fulfilment.

Always celebrate the small wins and you will find that you build an unstoppable momentum.

These are just some of the key steps that I covered in my most recent video you can check out on YouTube, or listen in Audio only on our podcast.

Let me know in the comments what your biggest takeaway was and how you might implement this information into your life.
